Hello, everyone! We’re running a series of interviews with our Player Characters to get to know them as we come up to the beginning of the campaign. Next, we have a young woman from Europe, with a storied past and hope for the future!
Introduce yourself!
Hiya! I’m Hedda Jørgënsdottir, and I’m originally from Norway! I moved here a few years ago. It’s… very rainy here.
What do you study?
I’m studying Psychology – like pretty much everyone in my family did hehe – as well as English Literature and Biology. And before you ask, no, I have no idea what I want to do at uni or beyond.
How was your first year of college?
It was really scary at first. I used to be really outgoing as a kid apparently but seem to have lost that (along with a half of my things) in the move from Norway, so I kind of struggled making friends. But, I’ve become really close with a couple of friends in my form so that’s been great!
Who are your friends at college?
Ooh, okay! There’s Emily, she’s like sunshine in human form, so outgoing and positive. Love hanging with her. And then there’s Sophie, we share psychology which is cool. She’s great for deep chats. Who else…. Liam! Liam does biology with me. He’s a quiet one but so sweet when he opens up. Keep meaning to go on a hike with him, he’s always asking me. I used to love hiking too. I haven’t been in ages… Anyways! I’m getting off topic. I almost forgot Raj and Anna – they’re both in my English Lit class. Raj is seriously the most creative person I’ve ever met, his imagination is out of this world. And Anna… Well, Anna hates English Lit and I’m pretty sure she was dropping it this year – she’s into Sociology. We’ve had some really interesting conversations about how it relates to psychology. Please don’t tell anyone how nerdy that last bit sounded, most people still think I’m cool.
Are you dating anyone? What’s your type?
Not right now – but I do get the attention. Comes with being the coolest kid in school. Really leaning into the Mysterious Foreigner aesthetic. My mum always says I should wait for the right guy to come along though, so I’m holding out.
What kinds of things do you do in your spare time?
A lot of the time after school I’ll hang out with my friends somewhere. I used to go on super long hikes back in Norway, and have been meaning to get back into it but just haven’t been able to get myself to go just yet. Obviously, lots of reading – English Lit do be having those deadlines. Uhmm… Music too – Darkthrone, Dimmu Borgir, Ulver… oh, and my dad just got me hooked on Mayhem. I volunteer at a charity shop once a week too.
What do you like to do at home?
Pretty much the same as what I do in my spare time. I usually get my chores & homework out the way early. It’s not that I like doing them, but just that I like not worrying about them (or being told off for not doing them hehehe).
Do you have an object of special significance?
I don’t know if it counts as an object but it sprung to mind as soon as you said it – I have this dream fairly often where I’m walking along a mountain back in Norway with this big wolf by my side. It makes me feel… peaceful. It’s a nice memory – if you can call a dream that!
What are your best or worst memories?
I used to be really adventurous when I was younger. Lots of big hikes around Norway that I absolutely loved. Moving country was pretty stressful – I barely remember whole months before it! Starting school was pretty stressful too, but I’m enjoying making friends here.
Is there anything you’re particularly afraid of? What’s your worst fear?
Big storms usually put me on edge – especially blizzards. Not a fan of blood either, ever since that thing with our old neighbor… wait, no, that was a nightmare I used to have. Still a fear though. And… if you absolutely promise nobody else is going to see this ever…. I can’t stand clowns. Uggghhhh. Freaks me out even thinking about them.
What do you think this second year of college is going to be like?
I’m so ready to smash this year. Plus now that I’m finally comfortable with all my form mates I’m going to be oh so cool, calm and collected. … What do you mean we’re changing who’s in our forms?
